Thank You!
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve our community. Yesterday showed that our district is ready for new energy. We won by a 2-1 margin: 481 to 231.
At the age of 22, I am the youngest person ever elected to Newark City Council. I am also currently the youngest elected official in the state.
Turnout was terrific. The last Fifth District election turned out 352 people; last year’s mayoral election turned out 433 voters from the Fifth District. We had more support yesterday than people who voted for either candidate in last year’s election. And more people voted yesterday than in any city election in the Fifth District in at least the past decade. I am thrilled that people were so engaged in the campaign and look forward to continuing that positive relationship with the community as we work to enhance Newark.
We couldn’t have had this personal grassroots campaign or communicated our message so effectively without your help. Whether you donated your time, money, or support, your help is definitely appreciated and made a big difference. Thank you!
I am excited about going forward and being able to work on the many challenges and opportunities our community faces. As I pledged during the campaign, I look forward to making decisions that reflect my commitment to the community and to making decisions with the community.
